Individuals results of distinction 2008

Individually, this is definitly one of Langar Rifle Clubs strongest years with the main success going to the Shouler brothers.

Simon should led the way and was at one point 7th place. Sadly, he dropped 2 points in the Prince of Wales finishing 20th in the Grand Aggregate - and incredible effort and the highest placed Langar Shooter ever in the Grand Agg - well done Simon. Along the way, he won outright the Times and tie shot and won the Alexandra. He was also short listed for the Kalapore team and was in the winning National Team.

Rick Shouler won the Corporation, City of London with the only 49 on the range. This also lead him to pick up the Monday Aggregate. He also managed to get through to the Donaldson Final (finished 4th overall), Queens Final (49th) and Georges Final (55th). Rick was 44th overall on the British Open Championships.

Mark Shaw shot in the Queens final (55th).

We had 3 Langar members in the top 200 of the Grand Aggregate.

Individuals results of distinction 2007

This years shooting has shown some excellent results from Langar. As a Team and Individual scores. Special mentions should go to Rick Shouler for achieving his 3 rd GB Cap in his career (of course to South Africa 2008) to James Bullock for shooting the McKinnon 2007 and to Simon Shouler for reserve in the McKinnon in 2007 Imperial Meeting. Mark Shaw also made reserve for the GB Team to South Africa 2008.

Two of our Langar Shooters making the Top fifty of the Grand; Simon coming top in position 36th in the Grand and James placed 48th. Incidentally James finished 48th in the St Georges Final as well this year.

Regretfully we only had one shooter in the Queens Final, however on a positive note this was Simons first Queens Final and qualified 30th overall. As he shot the Queens he also made 21 st in the British Open Championship.

James Bullock came 3rd place in the Donaldson Memorial and the Stickledown Aggregate. Simon also achieved 9th in the Palma Aggregate and a healthy 2nd to Jane Messer missing out on a cup by 1 V-Bull for the OTF Long Range Aggregate. Rick Shouler won the 1st stage of the Donaldson Memorial. Simon also took the County Championship for 2007.

Individuals results of distinction 2006

2006 was again a strong shooting year. Probably even our best for individual and team shooting. There is no question though that when members are on form they can be a strong contender and with the correct coaching, we could be a formidable opponent to many teams.

During the Imperial Meeting, the Chairmans 'O' Class was won almost outright by Simon Shouler (see photos). We also had Richard Shouler and James Bullock in the final of the Queens Prize 'X'ing themselves again. Mark Shaw was our only finalist in the St Georges. Richard managed to get into the National team for the second year running and was pleased to have Simon Shouler with him as reserve. Hopefully this could mean Mark and Simon would both shoot the National next year (as long as they continue to shoot how they do). Simon also managed a total of 27 prize lists.

Mark Shaw was our top Langar member at 52nd just missing out on a cross in the Grand Agg. We had 4 members in the top 200, and if not for an unfortunate cross shot, all 4 members would have been in the top 100.

Langar rifle club now has more X Class and A Class shooters than ever before.

There was also 3 members, James Bullock, Mark Shaw and Rick Shouler, of Langar RC who shot in the European Long Range Championships. Mark Shaw went on to top score for the team and was then picked to represent England at the Individual alongside Jane Messer. You can read a little more about James' experiance here. Freelancer Fiasco - we were very fortunate this year to be accompanied by some members outside of Nottingham and it was nice to make new friends. Other than Tracy Fitzsimons winning Competition 1, Simon Shouler won everything else outright. James Bullock was second just ahead of Mark Shaw in third. Richard was also picked for the Great Britain Teams to South Africa and Canada and thoroughly enjoyed himself.

Simon has also been picked for his second NRA Channels teams for 2007, and we wish him the very best of luck for that.

Individuals results of distinction 2005

Early on in the year, both Mark Shaw and Simon Shouler went on tours. Mark to the Channel Isles with his 1 st NRA team and Simon went to Australia with his 2 nd GB Under 25 team, obtaining the position of Chief Coach. Both of them faired extremely well and Mark and Simon top scored on numerous occasions. Whilst the teams sadly did not fair quite so well, Mark’s tour still won against Guernsey and Simon’s team went home in the happy knowledge that they would have won if one of their firer’s had not cross fired. Both members had a fantastic time, met new friends and shot well.

During the Imperial meeting, Richard Shouler managed to get into the National Team and Mark Shaw as reserve. The England team won besides the best efforts of that very same GB Under 25 in Simon’s team, again shooting at the opponent’s target!

Richard will soon be going to South Africa (2006) with his first Great Britain team and then again with his second to Canada in the August (2006).

Freelancers Fiasco - both the open and closed agg trophies were exactly the same finish with for the first time in about a decade, a Shouler 1, 2, 3 finish, having been graced with the presence of Mark Shouler. The weekend was fought keenly and the grand agg went to Simon Shouler with a very respectable 401.50. Mark Shouler on the Sunday beat everybody out right with his first ever 150 – and event that shall stay in his mind for some time! Don't get used to it Mark!

Congratualtions to James Bullock and Mark Shaw for 'X-ing' and 're-X-ing' themselves respectively. James nearly triple 'X-ed' himself - by no means an easy feat! Well done to James.

Individuals results of distinction 2004

Congratulations to Mark Shaw who has been nominated to shoot for the 2005 NRA v Channel Islands team and to Simon Shouler who has been nominated to shoot for the Great Britain Under 25 Rifle team to Australia in 2005. We wish them the very best of luck and I am sure they will have a fantastic time.

Congratulations to Mark Shaw for 'X-ing' himself.

Congratualtions to Rick Shouler who won the Champion of Champions Final with 150.21 just beating Nick Tremlett and Martin Millar both on 149.20's. This was an especially poignant victory for Rick who was narrowly beaten the previous year to come 2nd in the final.
